So I have lots of things to write but they aren't organized so this will be in point form with lots of info. ;)
- Soren turned 18months old this month, which is just crazy, he is growing so much and trying to say words. BUT he still will NOT walk!! He walks on his knees the crazy kid, and part of me doesn't care until I have to carry him everywhere and then it is not so fun because he is a big boy and I am getting more pregnant. He is a climber though, anything he can get his knee up on he climbs up. I have a feeling when he finally decides to walk it is going to be an adventure! :)
-Theo is just so delightful and we are finding more of a rhythm these days, him and I. He says the funniest things and understands so so much. I am tempted to start more focused learning with him on a very relaxed level. I would ideally like to just do more crafts with him but this is not a strong point for me, that kind of creativity, and the few things we have done he doesn't stick with long. He loves his little brother and can't wait till Soren can come outside with him to play.
- I am feeling good at this stage in pregnancy. Feeling the need for lots more discipline in my spiritual growth these days, loving mom's group, soaking up all the amazing sunshine we have had this winter, and supporting my honey. I am reading a book right now called The Meaning of Marriage by Timothy Keller and his wife and it is really fantastic! (A post about books to come soon)
- So Honey has had two different job offers in the last 3weeks which has been just nuts. It has felt like a intense couple of weeks as we talk through these things. I feel like all the jobs he has had in the last 5 years has showed us so much about ourselves and about what we want for our family and what Brian wants in a job. It has made the decision making process much easier and clearer for us. I have seen so much growth in my husband in the last year and am SO blessed to see him growing and learning and seeking God for much needed wisdom in these decisions. All that to say that he will be starting a new job on March 1st and it is close to home, so no more hour long commute (one way) earlier suppers/more family time for us, and really the job he has wanted since last spring. We are so thankful for this opportunity and for God's provision!!!
-My Honey is also giving me the gift of time with my family. My parents are flying me to their home for 5 days to stay, just me, and he is going to keep both the kids, (with the help of my dear mother-in-law while he is at work for a few of the days) I am seriously so excited to go spend time with my family and to just go sit at my mummy's house and rest. Also overwhelmed with thankfulness to my dear sweet husband who is letting me go and taking on the kiddos. And of course a little bit sad about leaving them all for even 5 days.
So I feel like there is more I wanted to write but I am coming up blank. This blog is in serious need of some more photos, so I will try and do that soon. Until next time...

BOYS!!!
We went for our ultrasound yesterday. Now, we have found out the gender with the last two and sometimes people have strong opinions about this. I don't think that it should be a big issue for discussion outside of you and your husband, there is no right or wrong answer I think, unless you are doing it to abort a certain gender, and well, I am not even going to get started on THAT issue. Anyway, for me, well, a surprise is a surprise no matter when you receive it and I would be happy to wait till baby is in my arms, but my husband LOVES to know at the ultrasound. And I mean like a little kid at Christmas LOVES it. :) I personally think it helps him feel way more connected to this little life, it just mentally makes is all more real and exciting for him.
SO we found out #3 and it is another BOY!!
I kept thinking of a line from a hymn that says "Whatever my God ordains is right". Of course I am human, and I am female and there was a small part of me that was hoping the lady would say girl, but when she said 'boy' I felt nothing but a surge of joy and thankfulness. I just have this overwhelming idea that God knows, like really knows what is best for OUR family, (and for each family in that case) and each child is picked just for us, for what God wants to do for us, and with us and through us and our children. And so far He has chosen boys! This makes me feel excited, and confident, that this is what God has ordained for us, and it is right. Sometimes it is hard for people who don't know God to understand why we wouldn't be disappointed by this news, or they ask if we will still 'try' for a girl. All I can say is that we don't 'try' for a gender, we love children, we think they are a gift, boy or girl, we are just happy to receive that gift from the Lord.
So there you have it, we will have a small quiver of boys and as we anticipate this newest one's arrival, we now have to agree on a name. Any suggestions are welcome, we used our two absolute favourites that we BOTH loved, and now we are totally stumped.

So I can't believe it is 2012 already. We went to bed at 10:30pm New Years Eve, cause when your kiddos wake up at 6am it takes the fun out of midnight. :)
We had a very low key Christmas season, which is nice. Lots of family time. Christmas day was good minus the massive headache that came on in the afternoon and as we do gifts in the evening it was hard for me to feel 'engaged' but it was still fun with the boys. I loved having church in the morning, felt like it brought everything into the right perspective, as what else should the day be about but Christ. Wish they did that every year.
I have few resolutions for the new year, would love to see lots of changes in my life but feel they are going to be slow one step process kind of things and a big list just get's overwhelming. Although last years was simple as well. I didn't get through the entire half the Bible like I meant to, am a bit behind, but still intend to finish reading through this year. And I did read 25 books, which I was very happy about and felt it was a good way to use my spare time.
My soul is feeling thirsty for more of God. When I go long periods without reading my Bible regularly I start to feel like I am starved inside. Make any sense? I just feel like the cup is empty and in great need of replenishment and I am thankful for that desire that pushes me on, into the Word, and seeking more of Him.
The belly is growing!! This life inside me becomes for real to me each day. I have lots of thoughts as I try to mentally prepare for it's birth, and what that 'birth' will look like and where it will take place. This could be a whole other post, it might take some writing for me to process all this. Likely I will not get to deliver in this small town, which makes me sad, but I am so happy to have a doctor here for most of this pregnancy and a fantastic doctor at that.
We love love LOVE this house. Minus it not having a double sink (why would you even make a single one anyway?) it has so many windows, is so full of light, I have my own laundry room!!! and there are NO stairs!!!! It's wonderful, even in all it oldness. (if that is even a word) It came at the right time though, my expectations of what kind of house we would have first were very lofty, (i.e. ganite counters, tile/wood floors, obviously newish etc.) my expectations changed and lowered and even what I desire of consider 'necessary' in a house changed over the years of apartment living, and I am thankful for a house I would have considered a more of a 'shack' 5 years ago. God is good, and I am thankful he doesn't allow us to stay the same. ;)
Anyway, I will leave you with some pictures of the last month, sorry no belly pictures yet, but I am sure they will come. :)
Reading books while sitting in baskets with a friend. :)

Puzzles with Grandma in the new living room.

The flour was 'snow' :) Beautiful messes

Street children at the Bethlehem Walk, fun times!

Cold walks, or at least for me, the boys are always very cozy. :)

"The Slide" (Soren is still not walking, but he will climb NO problem!)

Soren DIVING down the slide! (This child concerns me, much for active and dare-devilish then T ever was)

It's been such a looong time. I so enjoy reading other's blogs to writing my own. But I do like to keep up a little. So, the last two months....
- Found out I was pregnant shortly after Thanksgiving
- Followed a week or so later by the WORST pregnancy sickness I have ever experienced, and at 13weeks has yet to go away.
- Then we moved in the middle of November on the coldest weekend of the season so far. (Just within town, to a little house with a yard!!!)
Needless to say my days have been so much more about survival then living. They still feel that way a bit as we come out of a family bout of the stomach flu that hit the whole Mom's group I am in. Hubby and I got it way worse then the kids and now I think I am feeling better but the pregnancy just picks up where the flu left off.
I go between excitement and struggle between loving that we are having another baby to feeling like I physically am just not going to make it, and I feel my entire family has suffered. My relationship with God has been weak at best so that has not helped of course.
T and I are still struggling as I try to ascertain his changing needs. It is hard when he is just so challenging these days and S is just SO easy and fun all the time. I have to really work to make sure that one is not getting all the negative attention and the other all the positive. Anyway, lots of great pleas for wisdom from my Heavenly Father, and prayer for grace. Oh how parenting shows us our need for grace.
We moved into a house, all one level, with a partly fenced back yard, and T LOVES going out to play in the snow. He is happy playing by himself for long periods of time and sometimes I go out and play with him if S is napping. We built the coolest snow fort the other day. It makes my heart happy though every time I watch him out the window with his broom, shovel and a few boxes, and know how good it is for him and how not possible this would have been if we were still in the apt.
I am not sure I could have survived the last month and a half without my mom's group. Meals, words of encouragement, people taking the kids for the morning, it has just all been amazing and I have never met so many woman in one place with such hearts to serve and give and offer of themselves, even if it is just a kind word or a loaf of bread. God knew how much I would need this group this year and I PRAISE him for them all!!! Not to mention that the discussions are always thought provoking!
We are trying to make the most of this Christmas season but I am finding I have to take small steps and I don't have a lot in me for all kinds of things. I finally sat down and made a list of a few things that I for sure want to try and do with the kids and we will just plug away at it. I would love to do a popcorn string for the tree with Theo this week, so we should see.
So this is disjointed, but I was getting tired of always seeing my last update from the beginning of October. That felt like years ago. So that is a bit of a nutshell of the last few months. Happy Christmas to all you out there in blog world.

- So we are loving fall, although the swings from super hot to rather chilly are a bit hard to gage from our apt. so somedays we end up with sweaters we never touch and other days we wish we had them.
- I agreed to lead a mom's group in town, terrifying. ;) Although I love fellowship with women and even though I would classify myself as more of a one-on-one person I am excited for this opportunity, for growth and for learning and making friends with new women!
- T and I have been really off for the last week and I feel at a bit of a loss. We just are butting heads A LOT and I feel often more frustrated with him then not. We have cut out movies (even though they were always very minimal already) all together, increased reading time together while S naps, tried to engage him more in everyday activities alongside me. Yet he is restless, whiny, won't play well on his own. I don't know I'm just at a bit of a loss. Am going to start out each day in prayer with him this week and work on lots of affirmation and affection on random occasions, but other then that I am not sure what else to do. Sometimes I feel like his is tired of these four walls, and his toys and I wish I could send him outside more. I do love this sensitive little soul though, he sure knows how to give a good cuddle and I love that he loves books!

- Sometimes I struggle with the place we live in and sometimes I love it. My ideas about houses has changed tons since we first got married, and we have been thankful for this apt. but I long for a yard for my kids, and I get tired on the upstairs and downstairs haul all the time. There doesn't seem to be an end in sight at this point. On the other hand, it is totally manageable for cleaning and that is so great. It's a small space to keep up so I don't often feel overwhelmed by the tasks.
- SO ready to be pregnant with baby number 3, working on remembering to wait on God. After what felt like the loooong with S I feel like I trust Him more that his timing is perfect, I do believe that. Just hard somedays when you really feel like you just want to know there is a little person growing inside you. I hope His timing is soon ;)
- I haven't lost all my weight from Soren and it is hard. I don't feel good about myself or how I look. I hate being in pictures and I am sure I look 5months pregnant. I feel that it is as simple as going off grains, but that's not simple at all when it is all you know how to cook with. I am the first to admit that I am not a cook. I can keep my house clean, but don't ask me to cook you a meal or I will seriously have nightmares about it. I hate cooking and I hate that I feel like I am feeding my family junk all the time. I feel that I know a lot about food and nutrition and what is good for you and what isn't, but I just don't know where.to.start!!! It doesn't help that all we could afford most of the summer was pasta noodles and had to eat at the in-laws a lot. (Who don't eat/like most veggies, just meat and potatoes) I can't overhaul all at once, but I can only imagine how good my family and myself would feel if we cut out lots of the starch and grains we eat. But I don't want to spend all day in the kitchen either. Anyway, just kind of at a loss and I know I won't probably loose anymore weight until something gives in the kitchen.
- Here is mister happiness. Since the day he was born to now, he is just laid back and happy. He loves a good game, loves to chase balls around, has the occasional little fit, and is so easy to love.

Time to go rest now for the full week ahead. Looking forward to THANKSGIVING!!

Hello Blog
Ok so it's been a whole month, Yikes. Soren is one, I am now 27, my parents came to visit for one glorious week, Brian got a job..What a month!!!!
Let's face it, this blog is just NOT a priority for me. I used to have grand ideas for this blog.
Let me back up.
When I first started it a wise woman said that she did not trust herself to blog, she felt it was too much freedom and it would feed her pride. Well, I tucked that away, started my blog, mostly with the intention of relieving all my pent up opinions about anything and everything, cause what better place to do it? But each time I go to write about some topic, well, it just doesn't feel right. It feels exactly like getting up on my high horse about something, and in a way, feeding my pride. And frankly I have come across and read enough blogs by women who use them to air all their opinions, and it just gets old I am sorry to say. I don't think we as women know how much blogs have been used of satan to bring such discourse and discontentment into homes and families.
All that being said, I do love reading the blogs of women who are just sharing about their everyday lives and journeys and adding pictures and occasionally explaining why they live a certain way. I would like to do this with my blog, have it be my new vision. The reality is though, it's just not a priority for me. I would rather read, or clean (weird I know) or talk on the phone or be out, or make cards, then sit at the computer. Hence I have never finished all these photo books I keep starting. :)
Anyway, I just wanted to put that out there. I will try and blog when the spirit moves (haha) and in the meantime I will enjoy learning and being inspired by all the lovely ladies that are just sharing their journey and their pictures. :)
So here is a picture of my now one year old...

Also we are rejoicing for God's provision of a job. We have learned a lot this summer about how little we are in control, and God opened the doors he wanted to, in His timing, and we are thankful. Now it is just adjusting to change, and why I thought my husbands jobs would affect us so little I don't know, but they do affect our life and routine a lot and change is not our strong suit in this family. I am proud of my hubby, for seeking and waiting on the Lord, and not rushing into something just for money's sake. We tell people that loosing his job has been one of the best things that ever happened to our marriage and I have to say that we are the closest we have ever been in 5 1/2yrs of marriage. So thankful for that man and I don't say it enough.
And that's all for now. :)

Picture laden post
Just wanted to put a brief update with recent pictures. We are pressing on here, keeping perspective on our current stress by remembering and seeing pictures of those dear people in Africa right now with soo much less. When I look at the chubby cheeks on my children I remember to thank God for where he has placed us and how he still provides in his own way. All is Grace.
Love the look on these two faces

Theo has taken to towing Soren around as Soren's legs aren't long enough to move himself yet.

All dressed up in vests from Nana. I think they look rather handsome

Thanks to the generosity of the in-laws we were able to go camping with them this last weekend. This was a blessing to us in so many ways. We would move out to these mountains in a heart beat if we could. How we love them.
Me and T :) Can't believe how much he is looking like a little boy and not a toddler at all anymore. Sometimes I think he is 4 and not 3.

My almost 1 year old.

At the beginning of one of our hikes T stood there and looked and said, "You can see the highest of the high! It's beautiful!!" Soo so sweet.

Theo thought that Soren should get to experience being in the water a bit since he got to walk in. Soren loved it. (Not that he had any clue what was going on, but hey, that's ok)

He could stand there allllll day and throw rocks in the water!

Just us.

Just us.
